Plasma Physics Papers in Physical Review E

Physical Review E welcomes theoretical and experimental papers which advance understanding of the plasma state of matter.

Plasma physics is a broad and multidisciplined field of both fundamental and applied research. In keeping with the general policy of all Physical Review journals, we emphasize fundamental aspects. However, applied and device-oriented work may also be appropriate for submission to PRE. Examples include papers which (a) establish a new technique or principle to enhance the performance of a broad class of plasma physics devices or (b) provide experimental confirmation of a significant advancement over previous capabilities or performance. Examples of content not suited to Physical Review E include (1) design, optimization, or performance of a particular facility, device, or hardware implementation, (2) analytic theory or computer modeling lacking clearly articulated physical significance.

The Editors of Physical Review encourage the submission of appropriate papers on plasma physics to Physical Review E. Most plasma physics papers will appear in the Plasma Physics section. Cross-disciplinary papers that emphasize some aspects of plasma physics may appear in other sections of Physical Review A, B, C, D, E, or Special Topics - Accelerators and Beams (PRST-AB). Since January 1, 2007, the designated home for papers devoted primarily to beam physics is PRST-AB.
