We compare recent experimental results for the spectroscopic properties of 23F with theoretical results based on the new Hamiltonians USDA and USDB for the sd-shell model space. The implications for the proton single-particle energies in 23F are discussed. Conclusions are drawn about the level scheme of 23F and the accuracy of the new Hamiltonians from these comparisons.
