Phys. Rev. C 72, 025501 (2005) [9 pages]Test of Fermi gas model and plane-wave impulse approximation against electron-nucleus scattering dataReceived 20 May 2005; published 31 August 2005 A widely used relativistic Fermi gas model and plane-wave impulse approximation approach are tested against electron-nucleus scattering data. Inclusive quasielastic cross sections are calculated and compared with high-precision data for 12C, 16O, and 40Ca. A dependence of agreement between the calculated cross sections and the data on momentum transfer is shown. Results for the 12C(νμ,μ-) reaction are presented and compared with experimental data of the LSND Collaboration. © 2005 The American Physical Society URL:
