By means of β-γ coincidence measurements, a γ-ray peak at 993 keV corresponding to the decay of the 11+ state in 46V was observed. The branching ratio of the Gamow-Teller decay to this state was found to be bGT=0.216±0.050. The half-life of 46Cr was measured to be T1/2=240±140 ms. The transition strength was determined to be B(GT)=0.64±0.20. This result was compared with theoretical values calculated with the shell model and the phenomenological quasideuteron model. © 2005 The American Physical Society URL:
