High-spin states in 108Cd were populated in the reaction 64Ni(48Ca,4n) at a beam energy of 207 MeV. Gamma-ray spectroscopy was performed with the Gammasphere spectrometer. A new excited band was found. The quadrupole moment measured using the method of residual fractional Doppler shifts has a value of Q0=8.5eb, which corresponds to an axis ratio of c/a=1.72.
