Phys. Rev. C 65, 024323 (2002) [9 pages]Dependence of the decay widths for proton emission on the single particle potentialReceived 11 September 2001; published 25 January 2002 The dependence of the half-lives for proton emission from deformed nuclei is studied for the different single particle potentials known in the literature, that describe standard nuclear structure properties. As an example, ground state and isomeric decays of 131Eu and 141Ho will be considered, since they are well deformed exotic nuclei for which the experimental data are very precise. In order to reproduce the experimental decay rates and properties of the decaying deformed nuclei, the interactions must have the spin-orbit term treated as deformed and a large radius parameter, r0≈1.24-1.275 fm. Most parts of the parameterizations are in this limit, and reproduce the decay widths, with the correct deformation, in a range of values within experimental uncertainties. The Becchetti-Greenlees [15] one is an exception, with r0=1.17 fm, and is unable to reproduce the data. © 2002 The American Physical Society URL:
