C 61, 027301 (1999) [4 pages]Calculation of E2-transition probabilities based on angular momentum–projected cranked Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theoryReceived 26 February 1999; revised 6 August 1999; published 30 December 1999 The E2-transition probabilities are calculated for high-spin states in the ytterbium isotopes 160,164,168Yb by projecting out exact angular momentum states from cranked Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (CHFB) intrinsic wave functions. It is shown that the projected CHFB theory describes reasonably well the overall trend of the experimental B(E2) values along with spin, exhibiting their substantial reduction in the band-crossing region. © 1999 The American Physical Society URL:
