C 60, 015201 (1999) [11 pages]Λc+→p+K-+π+ decayReceived 2 October 1998; published 16 June 1999 The proton energy spectrum and the angular distribution of the probability of the Λc+→p+K-+π+ decay for the polarized Λc+ and the unpolarized proton are calculated in the quark model with chiral U(3)×U(3) symmetry incorporating heavy quark effective theory and chiral perturbation theory at the quark level. The application of the obtained result to the analysis of the polarization of the Λc+ produced in the processes of photo and hadroproduction is discussed. We draw the similarity between the measurements of the polarization of the Λc+ in the Λc+→p+K-+π+ decay and the μ- meson in the μ-→e-+ν̅ e+νμ decay. © 1999 The American Physical Society URL:
