C 53, 188–194 (1996)Change of shape in the yrast sequence in 50CrReceived 10 July 1995; published in the issue dated January 1996 In shell model calculations for the yrast even-spin states of 50Cr, the static quadrupole moments of the low-spin states 21+, 41+, 61+, and 81+ are negative but those of the high-spin states 101+, 121+, and 141+ are positive.
